At This Point In Time Would You Ever Subject Yourself To A Judicial Committee?
by minimus ini certainly wouldn't.
and if the elders wanted to have a meeting with me, i would respectfully decline.
if the elders wanted to deal with you, would you talk with them?.

Apparently the Grand Jury thought so and thats the system that protects us all from the court of public opinion when it works. My opinion? It worked this time. I will add it would have been better if the stepdad had chanted, "we will sue in civil court" instead of "Burn this B++ch down!".

Just when you think you're past it all...
by Phaedra inyou"re now the "unbelieving mate" who is now pursuing your degree just before your mid-life crisis hits because until you woke up to the tatt, you bought into the whole "you'll never grow older in this system of things...".
you're watching your parents grow old fully-invested.... your spouse still invested because "there is no better alternative....".
your in-laws still won't come over tomorrow (thanksgiviing day) to eat turkey because it might just look like.... just when you think you're past it all and you feel that little bit of jw that is still there at your core eventhough you think you're beyond jwism..... and you remember and empathize and love your loved ones just a little bit more... because as of yet, they cannot find it in them to distance themselves from somethign you found limiting, closing, dark, and oppressive.. may they all find their freedom one day.

When loved ones mistreat us its very hard. I feel for you. Keep loving them because reason isn't what they are after. Only love for someone else will break through because only then will what you say crack the facade of the old NY gangsters. If it even will, still up to them. Enjoy your dinner and Happy New Year, Birthday and Good Luck! There I said it, lol.

When JW's say, "the farther we get from Adam..." to explain Autism, illness etc. is it just denial?
by Wasanelder Once ini am so sick of hearing jw's blame everything from autism to hangnails on our proxemity to the existence of no-navel-man adam.
they thereby betray their own lack of personal responsibility for their poor physical and mental health on adam.
just maybe a little more work to afford a doctor visit once in a while wouldn't hurt?

Or stop driving around all day in a crappy car eating junk food, get off your butt and acutally walk? My opinion is that they have this magical Adam complex where they blame everything on him and again deny personal responsibility. What have you experienced with this mindset?

Officer Wilson not indicted in killing of Michael Brown
by Simon inafter a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.
let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

Hey guys I was only saying what the Mayor had to say about the looters in recent weeks.
“Once the vigil dispersed, the people who showed up saw their numbers and got really brave, then people started driving in from other areas to steal stuff,” Mayor James Knowles told WND.
“A lot of the people aren’t even from our town; but they came in and stole from our businesses and left our town in ruins, and made it look like there are racial tensions here that simply aren’t what they made them out to be. Such a shame that we have people with an axe to grind, coming here to grind it,” he said.
I don't think he thought it was a myth. I wasn't saying it to excuse what was happening or make it seem there is no problem in the community. Just mentioning a stated observation by a local official. I think we were encouraged to support our assertions so this is my effort. Beleive the guy or don't no big deal. This "you shot my son so now I'll burn down my own house" mentality seems chonic in this society from Watts up to today.

If the decision of the Grand Jury is the law it should be respected. It has been reported over the last few months that there are people who watch these sort of events and travel across state lines to engage in looting when the opportunity presents itself. Its not all local outrage. So sad really. So many seem to act against their own interests. Officer Wilson's tesitimony is available on CNN and worth a read.

Ever notice how JW's can attend a talk or Convention and remember nothing?
by Wasanelder Once inhow many times have you asked a jw who has attended a public talk how the talk was, only to be told it was so great!
yet they cannot remember the title nor any one single point except that the brother was "funny" or was good with illustratiions or some other vauge point?
and conventions weren't far off either.

And conventions weren't far off either. It was always some "how close the end is" statement and not one bit of counsel on how to be a christian or other weighty matter? How about you? Was it like that for you? Did you take notes and actually have something to share or of benefit from the bragfest? Was it because there were no good points? Or were you zoned out?

Its ironic that he did everything in the marriage while alive and in death he may be paying her way. Hope she has to get off her ass at some point and wash a window.
